Donna Stoering, pianist
Donna Stoering ( http://www.donnastoering.com) is the founder, artistic director and host of this “Notes for Nourishment” series. She is an award-winning recording artist, concert pianist, vocal soloist, choral conductor, educator, composer and social entrepreneur who has served as Artistic Ambassador for both the UK and USA to countries worldwide. Donna has been performing public concerts since age five, and teaching professionally since age 11. She has founded new concert series and music festivals on three continents, taught both performers and piano teachers at music conservatories around the globe, and performed in television programs about music, on numerous international networks. A protégé of the late Sir Georg Solti, she has been the subject of special programs on the BBC, Hong Kong Radio & TV, Brazilian national television, RAI (Italy), NPR and PBS stations, and the national networks of many other countries.
A Marshall Scholar who has lived in both the UK and Europe, Donna enjoyed teaching at University of York and then serving as Artist in Residence at Oxford University, while performing solo recitals and concerti in the major halls of Europe and coaching/accompanying the opera stars of La Scala, Munich Opera, the Royal Opera, the Bolshoi and the Met. Solo performances have brought her to countless countries, including unusual destinations like Republic of Georgia, Bosnia, and Turkmenistan. Donna founded the global nonprofit music-media service organization Listen for Life (listenforlife.org) in London (1998) and it has thus far impacted the lives of over 10 million individuals worldwide through its outreach projects, live programs, and media productions. LFL is an all-volunteer organization with the mission of inspiring and empowering musicians to use their gifts in the service of others.
