"International Artists' Mosaic Concert" --Notes for Nourishment January 22, 2017
Sarah Tuan, age 14, is currently a San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College scholarship student studying with Yoshikazu Nagai. Sarah has given many performances most notably at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York, at Liszt House in Weimar, Germany and at the Santorium Marconi in Busko-Zdroj, Poland. She made her concerto debut as winner of El Camino Youth Symphony Concerto Competition. Sarah also has won numerous awards in many competitions, including the first place in 2014 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition along with a special award for the most outstanding performance of a Paganini Etude; the first place in Junior Solo of 2015 Virginia Waring International Piano Competition in Palm Desert which she represented the competition and performed a solo recital in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado; the first prize in 2015 San Jose International Piano Competition where she was also awarded with the Most Promising Young Talent, Best Bay Area Contestant prizes and scholarships to CUI International Music Festival in Canada, also to 2016 XXII International Chopin Piano Festival in Poland where she performed at the “World Piano Talents”; solo concert, and alternate/2nd place of 2016 MTNA State Competition. Last summer, Sarah participated in the 2016 Amalfi Coast Music & Arts Festival in Italy and was selected to perform at the “Rising Stars”; solo concert. Sarah will return to perform at Palm Springs for VWIPC Gala and she is also going to perform on NPR’s “From the Top” live radio show being hosted at Austin, Texas in February.
