"International Artists' Mosaic Concert" --Notes for Nourishment January 22, 2017
A native San Franciscan, Garyan Wong holds a degree in World Music Performance from San Francisco State University and has studied under various Guzheng virtuosos such as Winnie Wong, Liu Wei Shan, and Zhou Wang, head Guzheng professor at Beijing's Conservatory of Music. She has been featured as the solo artist with many orchestras, including San Francisco School of the Arts, Peninsula Youth Orchestra, and San Francisco State University. She is currently the Principal Performer for China's Spirit Music Ensemble, an internationally renowned Guzheng ensemble based in San Francisco. (Note: the ensemble will be performing on Notes for Nourishment’s February 26 th concert celebrating the Lunar New Year!)
